Charge me more, fine. But make me feel like a customer, not a nuisance

In the best case, both components of the vector contribute to your company's DNA: the unscalable things you have to do to get started are not merely a necessary evil, but change the company permanently for the better.

This is what to have in mind well before "what got us here, won't get us there". In a way: don't even worry about that fact yet. Proceed knowing you'll need to do things that won't scale.
